The Tweed Valley Racing Syndicate
This syndicate was formed in August 2017 by 17 friends who all had connections with Simpsons Malt at the Tweed Valley Maltings, Berwick Upon Tweed.
We decided to work with Susan Corbett after seeing Les’s Legacy won best turned and run in a race sponsored by Simpsons Malt at Kelso in October 2021. We were delighted when Susan offered us a 50% share in the horse. We formed a partnership as well as a friendship in May 2022 and were delighted when Les’s Legacy won for us only four days after the deal was struck!
After four wins (with one being a prestigious ‘Go North’ final at Kelso in March) and many places, we could not be happier – and have invested in ‘Max’ whom we have named Ivan’s Legacy, a 2021 gelding. He is Les’s Legacy sibling also out of Morning with Ivan.

‘Max’ whom we have named Ivan’s Legacy, a 2021 gelding. He is Les’s Legacy sibling also out of Morning with Ivan. He was placed 4th in a bumper in a very promising run. A good start to his career.

Les’s Legacy is a legacy left by the late Les Richards.
Les’s Legacy came 2nd at Newcastle before The Tweed Valley Racing Club bought him just in time to see his first win at Hexham in May by 2 ¾ lengths. Since then he has won four races and been placed 16 times! His best win remains the final of the BetVictor Go North Handicap Hurdle and his current earnings are £58,000.
