Susan Corbett
Trainer
Susan Corbett has had a combined Flat & National Hunt training licence for eight years. Coming from a non horsey background she bought her first pony age 13 and things have snowballed from there. Training first as a teacher and then spending 17 years in the Newspaper industry – Susan went on to run a successful stud farm with husband Frank. The transition from Stud to Racing happened when Susan decided she needed a new challenge. The yard has a reputation for getting the best from the horses in their care whatever their ability.
James Corbett
Assistant Trainer
Jamie has been brought up with horses when we were just a Stud Farm. It was a toss up whether he went down the stud route or racing – that was decided when he visited the British Racing School in Newmarket. Jamie worked for several trainers before settling back here as our Conditional jockey to win 27 races and be placed 147 times. He now works in a hands on role as the assistant trainer.
Amanda Mossman
Work Rider
Amanda started her career working for Dan Skelton, Tim Vaughan, Kim Bailey and Richard Hannon. Amanda then took a break from racing but then (I’m delighted to say) began working for us in 2022. Amanda is an excellent rider and hard worker with a great knowledge of horse care.
Bekah Duffy
Yard Amateur Jockey
Bekah Duffy decided to follow in both her brothers, Lewis and Josh’s, footsteps and came to Girsonfield where Josh, also our head lad, taught her to ride. She went off to Racing School in Newmarket and worked for Neil King, Stuart Coltherd and Jackie Stephen before coming back to Girsonfield as a work rider.
In 2024 Bekah had her first rides in Point to Points coming 1st and 4th on the super horse Wild Polly. With more experience, Bekah would look to further her career as the yard Amateur/Conditional Jockey.
Nathan Moscrop
Professional Yard Jockey
Nathan has been riding horses from a very early age. His parents had a permit to train their own horses, and he enjoyed going to Point to Points as a youngster. He started his racing endeavours with Don Eddy and Karen McLintock, based in the North East, before moving onto the legendary Ferdy Murphy’s in Yorkshire, which kick started his jumping career.
Since then he has been a part of some notable teams across the country, most recently fulfilling five seasons with Rebecca Menzies, at Howe Hills in Sedgefield. He has ridden 117 career winners to date as of April ’24 and won over 1,112,469 with some of the most memorable including ‘Sao’ at Newbury, ‘Fonzerelli’ in a listed race at Doncaster and Ask Paddington winning four times in a row!
Holly Anderson
Work Rider
It’s hard to catch Holly when she is not smiling! Her mum, Kirsty worked for us back in the day when we were a stud farm. Holly has been brought up on a nearby farm with horses in her blood.
Holly works Mondays and helps us go racing – including recently winning a Best Turned Out award. Holly plans to start an apprenticeship with us.

Cheviot Vets
Cheviot vets provide veterinary services to the horses at Girsonfield and are experts in equine medicine and care.
Urs and Sabine Schaeli have managed Cheviot Vets since 2008 and have been providing services to Girsonfield since we began the training yard. Their large animal team is equipped with four custom trucks to offer services in North Northumberland and the Scottish Borders 24/7.
Max Ling provides many of the veterinary services at Girsonfield. Max graduated from Glasgow in and went to Tipperary for a years internship at a busy referral clinic of racehorses and broodmares. His main interests are racehorses, lameness and poor performance. Max also regularly provides cover at international horse trials in North of England and Scotland and is racecourse veterinary surgeon at Newcastle Racecourse and local point-to-points.

David Merry Farriers
David Merry provides farrier services to the horses Girsonfield.
A farrier is a skilled craftsperson with a sound knowledge of both theory and practice of shoeing horses including making shoes to suit all types of work and conditions and devising corrective measures to get the best out of every horse.
David Merry Farriers are based in Innerleithen in the Scottish Borders.
Mark Noble Equine CHiropractor
Mark Noble provides equine chiropracting and physiotherapy to the horses at Girsonfield.
Mark has been an equine chiropractor since 1995 and brings invaluable experience and insight into the condition of the horses.
